In honour of International Day of Charity (5th September), we want to say a huge thank you. Every pound you’ve raised has gone straight back into Barnsley Community Gymnastics Academy, to fund brand-new equipment, help our coaches to develop and create a safe, inclusive space where children of all ages and backgrounds can grow their confidence and friendships, as well as their gymnastics skills.
Your support over the years has made a visible difference. This year alone, our Easter Eggstravaganza raised £1,526 for new Gymnova vault landing mats, whilst our Development 4 squad and their families raised £1,400 for a FIG-approved springboard. These new additions have been incredibly beneficial for our gymnasts, allowing them to train safely and aim higher. Every fundraiser, from quiz nights and bingo to sponsored events, keeps our gym open, progressing and well equipped to welcome the next generation.

Launching this September, our Lucky Duck Race aims to raise funds for much-needed kit, including specialist apparatus for our growing boys’ squad. Ducks cost just £1 each and Sport England will match every pound raised. The gymnast selling the most ducks by Christmas will win a £30 Milano Pro-Sport voucher. Whether you choose to buy one duck, sell a dozen, or simply spread the word, every bit helps.
From our early days in borrowed spaces to today’s thriving facility offering multiple disciplines and pathways, our journey has only been possible because of our community. Parents, volunteers and supporters, we’d like to say thank you for helping us build something lasting for Barnsley’s young gymnasts.
